Dental Extraction in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Tooth Extraction Treatments in Rehoboth Beach

We offer simple and complex tooth extractions. Simple extractions remove teeth above the gum line. For this type of extraction, we numb the area with a local anesthetic. We gently rock the tooth back and forth to loosen it from the socket. Complex extractions are used for teeth that are at or below the gum line. During a complex extraction, we make an incision in the gums, remove the tooth, and stitch up the tooth socket.

The day after your treatment, rinse your mouth gently every 3 to 4 hours with water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. If persistent bleeding occurs, place your gauze pads over the socket and bite down firmly for 30 minutes. Use an ice pack to alleviate the swelling. Apply the ice pack to the outside of your mouth for 30 minutes on and off. For pain, we recommend a non-aspirin painkiller.

What Are Wisdom Teeth?

Wisdom teeth, also known as the third molars, erupt behind your back molars. Typically, these teeth erupt when patients are in their late teens or early twenties. The wisdom teeth can cause problems if they do not erupt properly. Impaction occurs when there is not enough room in the mouth for the teeth.

Removing wisdom teeth can prevent tooth pain, overcrowding, and damage to the back molars. We will keep track of your wisdom teeth as they come in. Please schedule a consultation with us if you notice pain from your wisdom teeth. Our team will work with you to find the best time for your wisdom tooth extraction procedure.
